There is a fix for bug #46843 (also restricted) in grub's postinstall scriptlet: #special hack for #46843 dd if=/usr/lib/grub/stage2 of=/boot/grub/stage2 bs=256k sync Unfortunately this fix does not always work during installation. I had this behavior during the update from 10.2RC1 to 10.2 and during an update in the between 10.2 beta versions: - YaST complains about "Error 28: Selected item cannot fit into memory" during system update (booted from CD/DVD) - the log y2log_bootloader is attached - after rebooting grub has the same error when calling it directly: grub --batch < /etc/grub.conf - after calling the postinstall scriptlet manually (only "dd" is interesting here) grub works without problems: $ dd if=/usr/lib/grub/stage2 of=/boot/grub/stage2 bs=256k [...ok...] $ grub --batch < /etc/grub.conf [...ok...] -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
