https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206412 Summary: Cannot sync Palm handheld to Evolution. Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ralf.strandell@auriamail.net QAContact: qa@suse.de If I type as root: # pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB3 -L then 1) /dev/ttyUSB3 (owner root, group uucp, mode 660) is created 2) /dev/pilot is created (mode 777) 3) /dev/pilot is a symlink to /dev/ttyUSB3 4) a list of the Palms contents is listed on the screen, as expected However, If I try to sync Palm to Evolution and press the hotsync button in the cable (or the hotsync button on Palms screen), then 1) ... 3) do happen, but syncing does not. The user belongs to the uucp group... First I thought that this is a permission issue, but then I created an udev rule file, and managed to get the ttyUSB3 to be created with 777 permissions. The device was then world readable/writable and I also turned off AppArmor. --> Still no syncing. I cannot even send/retrieve the hotsync id to/from the device in Gnome. Hence, this must be a bug in Gnome. My Suse Linux 10.1 installation has all recent patches. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
