Ok. I think I finally understood the issue. You need to use your VGA cable for
configuration, so SaX2 can create the configuration. Still you need to exchange
your cable to DVI-D in between to finish configuration.
This is weird. Although you're using a VGA cable TMDS-1 (DVI-D) is detected
during SaX2 startup.
(II) intel(0): Output VGA disconnected
(II) intel(0): Output LVDS connected
(II) intel(0): Output TMDS-1 connected
(II) intel(0): Using user preference for initial modes
(II) intel(0): Output LVDS using initial mode 640x480
(II) intel(0): Output TMDS-1 using initial mode 640x480
I know there are various X related weird issues with eebox (it should behave
like a netbook, but apparently it doesn't), but I'm afraid we can't address
them before we have the hardware for testing available. There are currently no
plans to buy such hardware. I suggest to report this upstream. Sorry for the
standard text. Makes things easier for us.
I'm afraid such driver issues need to be addressed by Intel's Linux
driver development team. Thus I would like to ask you to report this
issue upstream on bugs.freedesktop.org according to
http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html
and add me to Cc (sndirsch@suse.de). You'll need to register for an
account on bugs.freedesktop.org first, in case you don't have one
yet. Thanks.
