I have a problem when I switch from my home WiFI network to my Android WiFI Tether network. Any domains that I previously connected to using my home WiFI network will not connect when I use Android WifI Tether. However, new domains that I connect to with Android WiFI Tether will work. Traceroute shows that it is connecting to my local machine's IP and failing there without consulting Android WiFI Tether. I am NOT running any sort of DNS caching on my local machine (I disabled nscd and the like) but I believe the kernel does cache stuff. My resolv.conf gets changed to this by DHCP when I use Android Tether: # Generated by dhcpcd for interface wlan0 nameserver 192.168.1.254 But even so, using previously visited domains, it keeps trying to look on my local machine's IP. Here is a traceroute: traceroute to example.com (22.22.22.22), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets using UDP 1 * * * 2 * * * 3 * * * 4 * * * 5 * * * 6 openSUSE12_1 (192.168.1.106)(H!) 2988.313 ms (H!) 2987.199 ms (H!) 2986.079 ms If I reboot the system and connect to the Android WiFI, it will work correctly. This bug does not happen with the same hardware and the same exact network configuration under Windows Vista, Puppy Linux, or Kubuntu 10.10. The bug is repeatable every time on openSUSE 12.1, and it doesn't matter if I use manual ifup/down, NetworkManager, or WICD. The result is the same every time. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Navigate to example.com on home WiFI 2. Connect to another WiFI network 3. Navigate to whatever.com and watch it work. 4. Navigate to example.com and watch it fail. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
