Things are/were taking so long this time to fix the build issue because the build breakage (kernel update) happened at the beginning of my yearly 3 weeks vacation. And then it took nvidia more time than usual to respond to my request to update the packages on their server. It should now be triggered and should be available in the next days. So this time about 5 weeks instead of a few days. Sigh.
Thanks for the update, it's good to know why. I've had happily been using the easy-way for the past two decades, after that long it's about time you took some time off :-) Just to be clear about this bug report. I'm not dismissing the easy-way or OpenSUSE's efforts at providing it. I just wanted to contribute some suggestions for improvements in the light of experiences in a corner case.
