https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=301387 Summary: Yast should sanity check network devices in second installation stage Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 7 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: trenn@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Development The first installation stage went through smootly -> reboot We then had some problems with HW/kernel working on another bug and put another network card in. It now seems as if the new network card (a dual network card with 2 interfaces) get eth1 and eth2, while the old network card was assigned to eth0. Yast now seem to try to activate eth0, which should not exist at all as the network card has been removed from the machine. IMO it should try similar like in install stage 1 (linuxrc), check which network card has a link and try to set this one up instead.
