I don't believe the 160Hz. This must a different issue, which in the end results in no signal at all. :-(
BTW, are we talking about a CRT or TFT monitor? Is it connected via VGA or DVI cable?
According to http://www.kdsusa.com/ProductDetails.asp?prod=8 this is a CRT - connected via VGA cable of course.
