This went from bad to worse. Now I have no sound at all even after following
the sequence that worked for me before.
This is dmesg related to ALSA:
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:14.2[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 16
ALSA sound/pci/hda/hda_intel.c:1155: hda-intel: no codecs initialized
ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:14.2 disabled
O.K. I still have the same question: why does it work with other distros
without any issues? Why my card works without any problems using OpenSuSE
10.3?
There must have been definitely a change to how snd_hda_intel is loaded uner
11.0 that causes this issue.
