Here is my update on the bug. Unfortunately I am a Windows pro, but a
Linux noob so I can fill in all the info devs might need.
I am having issues with IBM Thinkpad T41 which features a Radeon
RV-250 (= Radeon Mobile 9000).
I think 10.3 ha regressed in between last Beta and RC1. I was able to
use Beta for weeks without issues, but RC1 or 2 somehow break up my
Xserver configuration after a day or two of regular usage. I am not
using Compiz nor have I changed any X/LCD/Radeon settings. I have
reproduces this 2 times with 1CD Gnome edition and once with 1CD KDE
Edition.
So what happens that suddenly boot ends up to a text-mode login, and
the X session does not start as expected. If I recofigure using SAX2,
I can again start X but it is performing very SLOOOW or falls into a
state of unresponsiveness. There is no simple way around this
situation.
As I am a newbie with linux, I am unable to investigate or fix the
Xorg in this failing situation.
