Hi,
Came across this thread while digging around for a solution to my problem, and
thought maybe what I've gotten so far might help in some way:
I've a Lenovo T61 (with the 4965 chip), and the wireless had been fine (both on
OpenSUSE 10.3 and 11.0).
I swapped my old Linksys Wireless-G for a new Belkin N Wireless Router, and
life went bad. The wireless would connect about 2 tries out of 30, with similar
messages as already noted in the thread.
After trying encrypted/unencrypted, SSID broadcast/no broadcast etc, I finally
decided to configure the Belkin router to ONLY connect at 802.11g (instead of
the default 802.11bgn), and VOILA! Connected with WPA2, no SSID broadcast, and
full 54Mbps.
Subsequent Googling seems to indicate that the support for 802.11n might not be
present in the iwl4965 module.
regards
kumfei :-)
