https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=748565 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=748565#c0 Summary: tracker kde nepomuk gnome incompatible Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jdd@dodin.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:10.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/10.0.1 I have a complex installation. For demo purpose, I have installed kde and gnome (and many other things). Having a small thunderbird problem (other bug), I was directed to tracker problem. What I notice right now is than if I uninstall tracker, yast uninstall most gnome. Gnome is still present in the kdm menu, but do not load. May be this is a first bug. What I wan to make clear here is that it's not a normal situation to have both tracker (gnome indexing) and nepomuk (kde indexing) running both at the same time. I didn't try for nepomuk, but in the tracker config UI, I didn't find a clear way to stop completely tracker without uninstalling it. This is the bug I want to show here: The normal way of functionning should be to run nepomuk only when loging kde and tracker only if logging gnome. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.install gnome and kde 2.login 3. Actual Results: tracker and nepomuk start both Expected Results: only one of them should start at the same time looks like this situation break some applications, not to mention the fact that this consumes processor power. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
