https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721713 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=721713#c0 Summary: Change in default Postfix behaviour, see smtp_dns_resolver_options Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: per@opensuse.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-GB; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 Firefox/3.6.10 I think postfix 2.8 is likely to break a number of mail systems out there because a default behaviour was changed. I've already hit this issue on my production systems, I think openSUSE would be better off by adding "smtp_dns_resolver_options = res_defnames" to the default postfix config and thereby maintain backward compatibility with previous postfix releases. "Basesystem" seems to be the best match for this report.
