https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=242195 Summary: LD_LIBRARY_PATH variable overwritten after /etc/profile.local Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: harderk@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I try to set up LD_LIBRARY_PATH in /etc/profile.local: if test -z "${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}" ; then export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/root/lib echo "case 1" else export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${LD_LIBRARY_PATH}:/opt/root/lib echo "case 2" fi echo LD_LIBRARY_PATH set to ${LD_LIBRARY_PATH} (note the debug printouts that let me verify that /etc/profile.local is indeed run and that LD_LIBRARY_PATH is indeed set to what it should be set to). However, once I am in a shell, I get: ~> printenv|grep LD_LIBRARY_PATH ~> i.e. nothing. It looks like LD_LIBRARY_PATH is overwritten/removed somewhere after /etc/profile.local. I am pretty much using a standard openSUSE 10.2 installation, the only slightly unusual thing being that I run fvwm2 as window manager, but I don't see how this would be related. I see the same thing on a different computer running openSUSE 10.2 as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
