https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=340424 Summary: Screen blinks using nvidia drivers with my Geforce 8400 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 3rd Party Driver AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bvirlet@kdemail.net QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: --- I have a Samsung Q45 laptop with a Geforce 8400 graphics card. With nvidia drivers, the screen blinks from time to time, randomly. I have found a solution with Google (the problem was for another 8xxx nvidia card), which is to add: NVreg_RegistryDwords="PerfLevelSrc=0x2222" in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia After that, no problem anymore. NB: I also had the problem with other distributions. I don't know if suse can control the content of this file but if yes, it would be great to have this by default because it's not obvious that this line has to be added :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
