After some remote tinkering via ssh I decided to reboot, but had to do it physically at the server machine as it didn't respond to remote shutdown commands. I'm afraid/glad that I haven't seen any problems after rebooting, so I can't reproduce it. Obviously, I'm concerned that it's because I'm using ext4 on my disks (rather than ext3 that I was running before installing 11.2).
