https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=810219 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=810219#c0 Summary: T400 becomes too hot and shuts down Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: psankar@novell.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- After upgrading to 12.3, my thinkpad t400 becomes hot and shuts down too often. There is no problem with the hardware as the windows booting works fine for hours. I used to increase fan speed by the steps mentioned in http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_control_fan_speed in the earlier versions of openSUSE. But I no longer get a /proc/acpi/ibm/fan or thinkpad_acpi.conf with 12.3 This makes my machine shutdown multiple times everyday. Please suggest a workaround or fix. I will be happy to provide any information you want. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
