Summary: ZMD unable to resolve dependancy Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: email@example.com ReportedBy: firstname.lastname@example.org QAContact: email@example.com
In the following ZEN email to root the following error was found.
ERROR: Resolvable tar 2343-0 (http://ftp.isu.edu.tw/pub/Linux/SuSE/update/10.1) not found.
It is more interesting to note that ZMD appears NOT to use the mirror as defined in the update source but always uses the above URL - I find this very very strange as whilst the above URL may have an update the mirror which online updates uses may not yet have the update file yet. This is severe limitation bound to cause problems as you may, on the advise of ZEN to perform an online update and your mirror may not have the files yet. This could lead to a whole host of further problems.
I can find NO reason why ZEN should not follow the same online update source whether it be HTTP FTP no NFS. This is dangerous as well.
