https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343242#c15 Johannes Meixner <jsmeix@novell.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|ASSIGNED |NEEDINFO Info Provider| |mike_wells@cox.net --- Comment #15 from Johannes Meixner <jsmeix@novell.com> 2007-11-30 06:06:08 MST --- Since comment #10 the scope has changed because of the Device URI: ipp://192.168.0.114:631/printers/HPDesJet6540 Up to comment #8 I thought it is only about a locally connected USB printer but the above DeviceURI is usual for a remote queue. I.e. a queue named HPDesJet6540 on a remote host with IP 192.168.0.114 (and attachment #185363) shows that it is really the case here) which is broadcasted by the cupsd running on this remote host and your cupsd on your local machine gets this information and displays the remote queue to you on your local machine, see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:CUPS_in_a_Nutshell "Intrinsic design of CUPS for printing in the network" and "Browsing". As the queue exists on the remote host with IP 192.168.0.114 you cannot delete it on your loacal host. What you can do on your local host is to ignore such CUPS Browsing information, see http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:CUPS_in_a_Nutshell "If browsing is generally undesired: Set "Browsing Off" in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf." As the issue is now related to printing in the network, please describe your network environment, i.e. which hosts with which IP do you have and which printers are connected which way to which host. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
