Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Samba AssignedTo: samba-maintainers@SuSE.de ReportedBy: mrkfbrn@yahoo.co.nz QAContact: samba-maintainers@SuSE.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-1.2 Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Opensuse updater has updated Samba 3.4.3 that has just been added to the Opensuse Update Repo. After this update was installed I lost access to samba shares on my machine - the linux host. When clicking on the samba network icon an authorisation dialoge box appears and asks for a username and password. have never had this before but enter the correct user and pass for samba shares but am still blocked access. entering smb:/ into konqueror I get the message "Unable to find any workgroups in your local network. This might be caused by an enabled firewall." Windows clients are still able to access shares on the linux host. On some investigation this appears to be a bug introduced in Samba 3.4.3 https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6880 Samba quickly developed a patch for this that was introduced to Samba 3.4.4 yet Opensuse have opted to go with 3.4.3 This is a major bug and I believe that samba should be rolled back to previous version in updates repo or updated to the same version in samba:/STABLE/openSUSE_11.2 . . . 3.5.1 Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
