I deleted 11.1 RC1 on my system and put opensuse 10.3 on it with no problems. I
recently installed opensuse 11.1 final on my machine. There were no problems
with the installation. However, when I boot up the system still hangs during at
boot up beginning at the following line:
clock source tsc unstable(delta = 4398045948411 ns)
ata2: sata link down (sstatus 0 scontrol 300)
It then hangs at several times after that, but is easily fixed by pressing
enter or spacebar to keep it going. I later screwed up my boot partition and
then ran the opensuse repair system, and the system no longer hanged at boot
up.
How do I turn off nohz? I'm guessing I go into /boot/grub/menu.lst and add:
splash nohz=off
somewhere in the file. Is this correct?
