I am very sorry but it cannot be fixed, it is severely broken by design. The
parser implementation cannot cope with very many common situations, ie. it
expects to get all the data in a continuous block:
<node>
a
<node></node>
b
</node>
cannot parse correctly, tha value will get lost. Same with
<node>
a
<!--comment-->
b
</node>
It could never work before - you have never encountered these problems?
I will inform upstream but I am afraid that a only complete rewrite could fix
it. So at the end, you will have to use some real XML parser :( I am not even
able to come up with some hack to fix at least your problem, there is no way to
simply ignore more comments, it would break anyway.
In fact, now after a day spent with this code nightmare, I think we should drop
this perl module - only yast uses it and yast should definitely not rely on
something broken like this.
