Hmm since I never set up fax in LO could you provide on how to get to the fax settings?
They used to be in spadmin. However, this tool has been removed in LO 4.3 (cmp. https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.3, Section Options/General): "CUPS, fax machines and spadmin: LibreOffice will now autodetect that fax4CUPS printers are fax machines and prompt for the fax number to use when you print to them. Multiple numbers, separated by commas, can be entered." So you just need to install fax4cups and configure a fax device in CUPS - or fake a fax printer in CUPS (see below) ... AFAIK LO checks for the presence of a dial option in the ppd-File of the printer. If that is presents LO displays a dialogue box asking for the target fax number when printing. I had a working solution with LO 4.3 from OpenSuSE 13.2 on my Linux PC (see https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89996). However, after some of the automatic updates the fax dialogue box failed to appear ... Unfortunately, I can't say precisely which update caused the trouble as I hadn't used the fax some time. However, I have done some research myself: LO 5 from libreoffice.org works while neither LO 5 from SuSE Factory nor LO 4.3.7 from OpenSuSE 13.2 do.
Also I will have hard time to find some printer with fax number so lets see how lucky I get in the storage...
You don't need a physical printer or fax device to test the issue. Just add a dial option to an arbitrary ppd-File and install a CUPS printer. Then the fax dialogue box should appear. Add these lines to the ppd-File: *OpenUI *Dial/Dial Method: PickOne *OrderDependency: 30 AnySetup *Dial *DefaultDial: JobName *Dial JobName/Job Name: "" *Dial Manually/Manually: "" *Dial Option/Option: "" *CloseUI: *Dial Please let me know if you need further assistance or information - I'd be happy to help.
