If I remove our session-management.diff patch, what I see happening is quite
interesting:
- make sure the autorecovery save interval is set to some long time so that
autorecovery saves won't happen when testing this.
- edit some odt document.
- log out
- log back in. start OOo Writer with no command-line arguments. It opens a
window already containing the document I was editing when I logged out, with
the unsaved changes.
Is this behaviour good enough for the bug reporter?
It is pointed out for instance in the GNOME bug report linked to above, that
putting up some dialog asking whether to save or not on shutdown is not really
a good idea, because in a "fast user switch" environment it is possible that
apps have documents open but the session is not even visible.
I think the intended upstream behaviour described above is better than, or at
least as good as, what the session-management.diff is supposed to achieve (but
doesn't currently). So should we drop that patch?
