--- Comment #12 from Takashi Iwai
Suspend to RAM didn't change anything.
I wonder what the Dell-specific package (for use with Ubuntu 14.04) provides that allows this BIOS function to operate correctly?
I do, too. In the meantime, I got ubuntu-14.04.3-desktop-amd64 installed on a USB key attached to the laptop and I installed the Dell Ubuntu packages from here http://www.dell.com/support/home/uk/en/ukbsdt1/Drivers/ DriversDetails?driverId=VW84F&fileId=3458728014&osCode=UB14A&productCode=prec ision-m3800-workstation&languageCode=EN&categoryId=CS
With those packages installed, I can switch wifi on/off on Ubuntu. Without the packages, Ubuntu doesn't react to Fn+PrintScreen either.
If you give me a hint what I'm looking for, I can try to figure out what's different in the Dell packages.
It's really hard to know, as the above contains only binary. I *guess* some kernel modification, but can't be confirmed, of course. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
