https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804157 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804157#c0 Summary: Bluetooth mouse does not work on OpenSuse 12.3 RC1 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: 64bit OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: martin.biermann@kir.uib.no QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=524991) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=524991) Configure Bluetooth dialog User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.27 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/26.0.1393.0 Safari/537.27 SUSE/26.0.1393.0 I successfully installed Open Suse 12.3 RC1 (with KDE desktop) on my Dell M4600 laptop PC. Everything worked fine BUT I cannot get my Logitech bluetooth mice to work: The first mouse, the M555b is seen by the Bluetooth device wizard. I can pair it and give it the "trusted" attribute, but then it refused to work later. My Logitech M-RCQ143 mouse is not seen at all. There was a similar bug under Suse 12.2 (final), but with the following workaround that I found on the web. Under 12.3 configuration files have changed, so I cannot reproduce the fix. http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/703 Edit m4600lx:/lib/udev/rules.d # ls | grep blue 97-bluetooth-hid2hci.rules 97-bluetooth-serial.rules 97-bluetooth.rules m4600lx:/lib/udev/rules.d # If your Logitech bluetooth keyboard/mouse is not working in graphical interface then there is a simple way to fix this. gksudo gedit /lib/udev/rules.d/62-bluezhid2hci.rules then change : # Logitech devices KERNEL=="hiddev*" to: # Logitech devices KERNEL=="hidraw*" after that restart PC and your logitech devises will work perfectly. On Suse 12.2 the file was: /lib/udev/rules.d/97-bluetooth-hid2hci.rules This worked perfectly on M4600 and Logitech M555b Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn off the M555b mouse. 2. Turn on the mouse. 3. Press Connect button 4. Blue Devil reports the bluetooth mouse. I press "Authorized and Trusted" but nothing happens. Alternatively, I can go into "Configure Bluetooth" (see screenshot) and set the mouse properties there, but it does not help. Actual Results: The mouse is dead. Expected Results: The paired and trusted bluetooth mouse should be active. My M4600 notebook is so bulky that I cannot let a USB micro dongle standing in it under transport - it might break the motherbord. That the bluetooth mouse does not work is a major turnoff for me! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
