https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=766422 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=766422#c0 Summary: Connectvity problems with openSUSE 12.2 beta 1 (dvd) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bgoodall@hotmail.co.uk QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/5.0) After having installed and logged in to openSUSE 12.2 beta 1, I am able to configure the network setup successfully using both ifup and networkmanager but opening firefox reveals that connectivity is broken. This was with a wired connection. On further investigation I am able to ping locally and across the network to DNS servers without problem. So it looks to me as though local DNS resolution/caching is broken. Repeat, I tried this with both ifup and networkmanager and both were able to connect but DNS resolution fails.
