https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=238552 ------- Comment #10 from sbrabec@novell.com 2007-02-07 05:02 MST ------- Yes, it can work, but only using unsupported and deprecated (in GNOME context) way to use libraries - direct mentioning in the command line. Using recommended pkg-config, you don't have any chance to do it. Another question is, whether it has any meaning to link with shared gtk2, but static libgnomeui. Static libgnomeui will contain references to gtk2 for sure. I am sure, what will happen in the linker during evaluation of gtk2 symbol in static libgnomeui, if static gtk2 library is not available, but it seems that it will not work anyways: gcc -Wall gnome-hello.c -o gnome-hello -DORBIT2=1 -pthread -I/usr/include/libgnomeui-2.0 -I/usr/include/libgnome-2.0 -I/usr/include/libgnomecanvas-2.0 -I/usr/include/gtk-2.0 -I/usr/include/libart-2.0 -I/usr/include/gconf/2 -I/usr/include/libbonoboui-2.0 -I/usr/include/gnome-vfs-2.0 -I/usr/lib64/gnome-vfs-2.0/include -I/usr/include/gnome-keyring-1 -I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib64/glib-2.0/include -I/usr/include/orbit-2.0 -I/usr/include/libbonobo-2.0 -I/usr/include/bonobo-activation-2.0 -I/usr/include/pango-1.0 -I/usr/include/freetype2 -I/usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/include -I/usr/include/atk-1.0 -I/usr/include/cairo -I/usr/include/libxml2 -pthread -Wl,-Bstatic -lgnomeui-2 -lSM -lICE -lbonoboui-2 -lgnome-keyring -lxml2 -lgnomecanvas-2 -lgnome-2 -lpopt -lart_lgpl_2 -lgtk-x11-2.0 -lgdk-x11-2.0 -latk-1.0 -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0 -lpangocairo-1.0 -lXext -lXrender -lXinerama -lXrandr -lXcursor -lXfixes -lcairo -lpangoft2-1.0 -lfontconfig -lfreetype -lz -lpango-1.0 -lX11 -lbonobo-2 -lgnomevfs-2 -lbonobo-activation -lgconf-2 -lgobject-2.0 -lORBit-2 -lm -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lgthread-2.0 -lglib-2.0 /usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-suse-linux/4.1.2/../../../../x86_64-suse-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -latk-1.0 collect2: ld returned 1 exit status -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
