Was up all night working with a couple of other SUSE guys on my 3D accel problem (that is fixed too). Had to get a couple of hours sleep! Well, I hate to disappoint you but there is NO network, but I am on a router to a cable modem. Have 2 machines and they share the same modem. Now each of the machines has the same "real" printer which just happens to be a HPDeskJet6540. CUPS must be picking up the other machines printer through the router. Yes? I will check the serial number because that is in the printer data. This is all starting to make sense now. I uncabled my printer (6540) and the "other" 6540 still showed up. That one really had me spooked. I am sorry if I led you astray with respect to the location, local vs. network. I just did not know enough about CUPS (and am still lacking) to realize what was going on until late yesterday. I had to get to the bottom of why my root/root_pw worked with the config files in CUPS but not that printer. The other thing that had me confused was the ip address 192.168.0 (that belongs to me and my setup). So, I am off to do some investigating and see if I can get that Browsing function turned off (thanks for pointing me to CUPS in a Nutshell again). Once all of this is cleaned up I will try for a "real" install. I will be back to you one way or the other - hopefully today! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
