I have a slightly better backtrace, the problem is pointing to the next free()
where glibc is printing out that memory allocation has been corrupted.
as it immediately happens after the forked udev exits, I was guessing it could
be this case:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/ChangeLog-2.6.30.5
commit 9c8a8228d0827e0d91d28527209988f672f97d28
the code where it crashes does not have a malloc()/free() issue for sure (it is
straightforward code). however, the pointer that is passed to free() is
invalid.
