https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=691256 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=691256#c0 Summary: unable to open a connection to the XEN Hypervisor Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: jdouglas@novell.com ReportedBy: melchiaros@aol.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 I´ve just started with a upgraded openSUSE11.4 to the tumbleweed standard repro(http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/), which runs as a guest in VirtualBox4.0.6. I´ve started the Xen-kernel 2.6.38 and the system comes up normal. When I try to start the Virtual Machine Manager I got the message: "Unable to open a connection to the XEN Hypervisor" I will add two screen-shots: One with the error message and a short stack trace(looks like). The other with the running daemons on the system. There is libvirt0.8.8 installed when I remember right. May be that this is the problem. There is as far as I know a newer version. It may also be my setup at all: Try to run XEN in VirtualBox might be a not so great full idea at all. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install VirtualBox4.0.6 on your host 2.Install openSUSE11.4 as guest. 3.Switch the guest to repro:http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/ 4.Install xen with yast 5.make a newstart with the xen-kernel 6.start the virtual machine manager from kde launcher Actual Results: I can provite the virtual guest when it is needed, but my upload is not broad, so it could take some time! Expected Results: A running XEN would be fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
