Regarding comment#62 in general about overwriting udev rules:
I think it is o.k. when a specific udev rule for a particular
USB printer model overwrites the generic system default
udev rule for all USB printers (cf. comment#52).
I think in general it is o.k. when a specific udev rule
overwrites a generic default udev rule.
What is not o.k. and what happens here is that udev rules for
a specific use case unconditionally overwrite generic udev rules.
