Mattia, this machine seem to not be (fully?) supported by sony_laptop with latest mainline kernel (11.0 Alpha2 kernel should have a 2.6.24_rc7_git5 based kernel, Jonas might want to double check with uname -r).
Hmmm. The SZ and FS problems should be pretty much unrelated. I'm aware of the FS problem (not the first time I've been reported this problem but it's the first time I'm told that the old sony_acpi worked, see the ubuntu bug report linked in previous comments). While for the SZ it's actually a bit odd the fact that the brightness keys are working while the volume/mute are not. Loading sony-laptop with debug=1 will give some insight on the event handled by the driver and those not. sony-laptop will spit something like [2072229.907364] sony-laptop: event ([15] [21]) at port 0x1080(+0x12) [2072230.055690] sony-laptop: event ([1f] [21]) at port 0x1080(+0x12) [2072230.418895] sony-laptop: event ([16] [21]) at port 0x1080(+0x12) [2072230.572339] sony-laptop: event ([1f] [21]) at port 0x1080(+0x12) if it is receiving the interrupt from the SPIC device.
Brightness seem to be supported through ACPI video driver and BCL/BCM/BQC ACPI video brightness functions. Jonas could you double check this also: Is the video module loaded? If you invoke acpi_listen and then hit a brightness key, do you see video ACPI events popping up?
brightness is even more fun on sony laptops :) NVidia card based laptops are not supported even though they expose both the sony specific SBRT/GBRT for sony-laptop or the ACPI video device. With the GMA based ones results are different, some of them work with sony-laptop and the /sys backlight interface, others work with xbacklight -- Mattia -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
