I believe I found out why the javascript login doesn't work. When using it, it
doesn't doesn't call the wiki login page, like the other login option does.
The wiki software only runs session_start() from the its login script. So when
a user uses the javascript login form, the login script is never run and a
session is never started.
I actually came across this while working on the function for checking the
valid email entitlement. Users who were getting logged in automatically were
tripping up the function, and that was the reason why.
The fix was pretty easy. In the login form, I just added a line of code to the
appropriate place:
if (!session_id()) session_start();
I haven't been able to reproduce the problem on stage since. I will move this
out with the validate email fix.
