http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1193330 Bug ID: 1193330 Summary: Error booting a Lenovo Legion laptop with a Leap 15.3 KDE live USB stick Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.3 Hardware: Other OS: openSUSE Leap 15.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Live Medium Assignee: fvogt@suse.com Reporter: ralf.habacker@freenet.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 854252 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=854252&action=edit screenshot from boot screen with failsafe settings I downloaded an openSUSE Leap 15.3 KDE-Live image from https://download.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.3/live/openSUSE-Leap-15.3... and saved it to a USB stick with sudo dd if="openSUSE-Leap-15.3-KDE-Live-x86_64-Media.iso" of=/dev/sdd bs=4M status=progress && sudo sync A Virtualbox guest using this USB stick boots fine, but on a Lenovo Legion laptop with an NVIDIA RTX 1070 graphics card, the boot fails. The default boot freezes at some point and displays only the normal graphical boot screen, and booting with failsafe settings displays the appended messages. The failsafe setting already include 'nomodeset', which has been mentioned in similar bug reports. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
