Currently the SUSE spec file does build both the single threaded and the multi
threaded version of the libraries and copies all of them over afterwards where
the multi threaded versions just overwrite the single threaded versions since
they have identical names (a bug deep down in the build system used by boost
that even the boost developers can't pin down). So the conclusion is:
1. All libraries in the SUSE package should be multi threaded although they
don't have the -mt tag. If they are not multi threaded a more detailed
problem report would be helpful to track this down.
2. Most of the Boost developers are great C++ developers but they should have
stayed away from build systems since they seem to have lost track of what
their system is doing.
BTW, you might also consider the boost 1.34.1 libraries available from the
opensuse buildservice (http://software.opensuse.org/search , seach for boost,
take it from home:psmt/openSUSE_10.3).
