But for the vendor problem: zypper simply reports different vendor strings as 'changes vendor', although this is not always true. We for example changed our vendor string from 'SuSE' to 'openSUSE', but that's not a vendor change. The resolver knows about those equivalent vendor strings and will treat the packages as 'the same vendor'. Zypper on 11.4 was fixed to check whether different vendor strings are equivalent or not.
