http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=917502 Bug ID: 917502 Summary: xen/libvirt unable to install guest vm or restart managed guest with virt-manager after host reboot Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen Assignee: jdouglas@suse.com Reporter: wilnix@yahoo.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 622962 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=622962&action=edit Installed packages I initially thought the problem I was experiencing was the same as were discussed in; https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=909547 and https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=915103. However what I'm experiencing continues. It first appeared when upgrading my system from openSuSE 12.3 to openSuSE 13.1. Later upgrading to 13.2 in search of a solution. What I've tried so far, and what I do to get running managed guest/s is documented at https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/502307-openSUSE-13-1-gt-13-2-upgr.... Case 1. If I cleanly install libvirt, and install the hypervisor xen-tools from yast, then reboot the host, then try to create a guest vm from virt-manager using vm-install, the install fails. internal error: libxenlight failed to create new domain 'Webster' Case 2. If I cleanly install libvirt, install the hypervisor xen-tools from yast, open virt-manager and create a guest using vm-intall, the process completes successfully and I have a managed guest. However if I reboot the host and return to virt-manager the guest is stopped and when I try to start it I get the following error. Error starting domain: internal error: libxenlight failed to create new domain 'Webster' Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/asyncjob.py", line 91, in cb_wrapper callback(asyncjob, *args, **kwargs) File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/asyncjob.py", line 127, in tmpcb callback(*args, **kwargs) File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/domain.py", line 1355, in startup self._backend.create() File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/libvirt.py", line 999, in create if ret == -1: raise libvirtError ('virDomainCreate() failed', dom=self) libvirtError: internal error: libxenlight failed to create new domain 'Webster' Any help would be greatly appreciated.
