https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=343242#c19 --- Comment #19 from Mike Wells <mike_wells@cox.net> 2007-11-30 09:34:34 MST --- O.K. 1. as root 2. started hplip 3. hp-setup 4. chose USB (wizard/dialog) 5. finished up wizard/dialog with obvious choices 6. invoked CUPS 7. CUPS and KDE Print Mgr both show 2 printers instead of 1 after the install process completed. One of them had no location so that was the one that got added mysteriously. I had given mine a location of Local. They also had different names but they were the same printer essentially. 8. ran HP-Toolbox - erred out with "No device found or unsupported device". Now, I remember seeing (in my reading travels) that USB did not work and you had to install with YaST and choose HP Backend (I think that is correct) - something like that anyway - just can not remember exactly. I will remove 1 of the printers (NOW that I can - hopefully) and then see if I can patch up the other OR do another install using YaST and the HP Backend. "Buzz" me if you want me to take another direction... Just checked YaST (had forgotten). It shows the same 2 printers as CUPS and KDE Print Mgr and another "not configured" (standard). We are almost there Johannes (I think)... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
