mkinitrd fix for cciss driver
I've too installed OpenSUSE 11.0 on a HP DL360 G5, and I can confirm that there
were multiple errors booting with the default kernel on the CD/DVD. However,
booting from a LiveCD, I could chroot into the half-installed 11.0 environment
and download the newest kernel package.
However, when trying to install the new kernel, mkinitrd bailed out due to that
it wouldn't find the right driver for the root device (sorry, I can't remember
the exact error messages and I'm not in a position where I can reinstall to
give you the messages). It looks related to bug 435172, but I managed to solve
the problem by patching the script which failed by hand. Check attachment for
patch contents.
Once installed, the new kernel looks to have solved all troubles I was having.
