https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=394319 Summary: GRUB installation/configuration is done in a way that avoids booting in a former boot partition Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Beta 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Booting AssignedTo: jsrain@novell.com ReportedBy: aaragoneses@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- My partition configuration: /dev/sda1: swap /dev/sda2: OpenSUSE 10.3 /dev/sda3: home /dev/sda4: empty I installed OpenSUSE 11 beta 3 in sda4, and with manual partition configuration I stablished sda3 as mounting point /home. The installation indicated me correctly that I had another OS in other partition and, indeed, after the installation, now my GRUB menu contains 3 items instead of 2: oS11,failsafe,oS10.3. However, when trying to boot again in oS10.3 I get the following warning and I can't: rootnoverify (hd0,3) chainloader (hd0,1)+1 GRUB Do you know: a) How can I diagnose the problem in order to let you know how to fix it upstream? b) How can I fix my booting configuration for being able to use oS10.3 back again? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
