Output from "cat.sh" Part 1 from YaST2 icon, Part2 from Online Update icon
First, to answer a previous question, the laptop I am using for testing is a
single core AMD Turion ML-32 (1.8 MHz, 512kB L2 cache) The chipset is the old
ATi 480 chipset. The memory is old style DDR.
I ran the test from the Icons while I had /tmp open in a terminal to watch the
files. After I clicked on YaST2 icon I edited the "catlog" and put a divider
marker before clicking on the "Online Update" icon.
Here is something interesting:
When I clicked on the YaST icon "/tmp/yast2-err-pNcyLw" showed up. After the
test was over, I checked the contents and found:
"cat.bin: write error: Broken pipe"
So it would seem that even though I am no longer getting the error window, this
error might still be occurring, but the error report is being written to error
log files instead. But at the end of running YaST2, these logs seem to always
be erased.
