Without SYSTEMD_NO_WRAP=yes and systemd running, /etc/init.d/gpm won't actually
do anything, which you'd known if you had had a look into rc.status.
However you call the gpm init script, if the argument to the script is
any of those in checked in rc.status (line 54), i.e. start, stop, status etc.,
then the message "redirecting to systemctl" is sent to /dev/stderr and
'systemctl {start|stop|status|...} gpm.service' is called via 'exec'. That also
means, that the line '. rc.status' is the last line of the gpm init script that
is executed.
