Hi Takashi,
I am not sure if you are working any more on this issue or not (I haven't seen
any updates in a long time) but I think that this little bit of information
might be of some help:
1) SBx00 Azalia sound does not work after the reboot on Acer AM5100 AMD system
in spite of being correctly identified.
2) During my numerous tests and reboots, I came up with a sequence that makes
my card alive again. It is painful, but it works.
3) Sequence:
a) Give it a couple of minutes after the reboot so IRQ balancing or other
stuff taking place in the new distro completes.
b) run alsaconf at which point appropriate driver and modules are loaded.
Sound is back.
c) Open YaST and go to sound device. At this point, it will show as 'not
configured'
d) Click on 'Edit'. Sound card will be now properly configured and drivers
loaded (as by YaST).
e) Open up Volume controls and adjust appropriately.
Now, even though this sequence of events works for me, a fundamental question
remains: what has been changed between 10.3 (where sound was working out of the
box during installation and after reboots) and 11.0?
I understand your earlier comments about 'many changes' but that's why we have
repositories to keep track of them, I hope. I am sure that I am not the only
one having this issue on that particular system. The only question is how many
of those folks simply decided to go to other distros that worked for them 'out
of the box'?
OpenSuSE is too polished of a distro to allow for such a bug/behavior and I
hope, it will be fixed....
Thanks for you tips in an effort to resolve this issue. However, as far as I
am concerned, this bug is still opened and not fixed.
