--- Comment #4 from Takashi Iwai
Past: I have upgraded from 13.2 to Tumbleweed via 'zypper dup', changing repositories. The system let me make to do this. After the upgrade the whole display-manager complex became a chaotic turmoil, some display-managers work, some not, including KDE, KDE plasma and Plasma5. I have last some times to revive NVIDIA driver, with half-dead DKMS module. I reached a working display-manager (xdm/kdm), sddm not work or mixed with these. The login screen shows lots of display-managers, more then half of these are dead. XFCE, LXQT, ICEWM works (mythTV is zombie, not installed nowadays at all).
Present days: yesterday and made a big update, after this Xorg.0.log shows errors and I can not rebuild the NVIDIA driver. The error message is originated from the driver installer. I realized that the downloaded kernel version number is the same as the earlier was (but I think the 5. version number is different but the boot can not see it).
Well, all indicates about an issue with Nvidia binary driver. If so, there is little thing we can help unless it is a clear regression in kernel itself. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
