--- Comment #15 from David Rankin
What I also would like to see is a log file of the Xserver after it has locked up. Please attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log after you have logged into the remote system and the server is hung.
Please also supply the following information: - What display manager is running on the remote system? - How do you start X to get a log in screen on the remote system (the command line option(s) you are using). - Have you experienced problems running X locally?
Egbert, this is from David, not James, but: I sent the Xorg.[01].log files that I had. For the 11.1 box, the display manager is: DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm4" DISPLAYMANAGER_REMOTE_ACCESS="yes" To get a login on the 11.1 box, I use: 'X :1 -query arete' The hostname is obviously 'arete'. I have had *zero* local display problems since SuSE 8.0. As mentioned in my other post XDMCP works great with 11.0-to-11.0 connections, it's just the 11.0-to-11.1 connection that locks the computer. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
