The "Synchronizing..." alert remains indefinitely and must be aborted. The symptom has occurred twice, once in Beta 1 and once in Beta 2. It appears to occur the first time an installation source is added, but not after it is merely refreshed, though I have only read-only local sources (CD and DVD), so they don't ever change after being added.
