It's a problem that occurs right after installation, the first time the xorg.conf file is loaded, rather than the installation xorg.conf file. Everytime I try sax -r or anything of the sort (I have tried every combination of options) my screen goes black and my monitor gives a message "OUT OF RANGE: H-FREQ: 37.5KHz V-FREQ: 30Hz" where V-FREQ is flashing in red. I have looked up the specs of the monitor and indeed it doesn't not support this, my Packard Bell C910 monitor only supports: Max. Res: 1600x1200@75Hz Horz. Scan: 30-95kHz Vert. Scan: 50-150Hz Display Size: 366x275 (18 inch) The problem can't be the monitor because I've also tried it with other monitor and they gave the same problem. I think the problem is the radeon driver not using the correct refresh rate. I have finally managed to get it working by throwing away the default xorg.conf and using the xorg.conf.install, this one of course uses the Vesa driver. The Vesa driver used by default 1600x1200@75KHz/60Hz which works fine but if flickering a lot, 1280x1024@__KHz/85Hz is optimal but when I go in Sax2 to configure it, it is as if it simply ignores whatever I have specified. Right now it is really *impossible* to use Sax2 to configure the xorg.conf file, and the system is unusable after a default installation.
