"applications are supposed to disable the screensaver on there own"
This "excuse" sounds so similar to the broken encoding issue, which received a
stubborn WONT FIX. It is now a fact that anyone who has to deal with data from
Windows OSs has files which KDE is unable to handle in the GUI. It's a full
show stopper for a professional desktop.
OT, I know, but this stubborness is the reason for why I chose to report it
here, too: maybe the (easy) workaround could be implemented. Flash doesn't and
won't report via the browser that the screensaver should be disabled. Browser
based movies are increasing popularity a lot, and this should be recognized by
any distribution who is seriously interested in happy users.
