Buf = some memory location, ptr=return from mmap(), Offset = 0, Len=0x600. This is probably something for sgi to investigate, as it seems to involve either kernel space or some wrong pci initialization. BTW - is mapping /dev/mem the right way on a domain based machine? Probably some side effect of an updated package. Have to check myself. Still, calling /usr/lib/gcc/powerpc64-suse-linux/4.1.0/cc1 -g -O2 -fno-strict-aliasing -o /dev/null < xan.i with the supplied xan.i file will stall in the build system, but won't on the host system. Removing any of the -g, -O2, or -fno-strict-aliasing will have the compiler return almost immedeately, just like in the host system. The other options don't influence the outcome. Looking at the rpm size header of coreutils in STABLE for x86_64 reveals a payload size of 193 MB, which is the unstripped size. Looking at the file size with ls and du: $ ls -lh -rwxr-xr-x 1 99 99 2,1M 2006-10-05 20:45 basename $ du -sh basename 40K basename $ Looks like a sparse file, eh?
