This seems to be unrealated to the accellerator keys which are explicitely assigned (and who will be printed after the menu). I can't say under which circumstances these hotkeys are generated - they seem to appear after kscpm has been running for a while. Our experienced KDE folks may be able to help enlighten us, thus adding Dirk Mueller to Cc: Still fixing the problem is not all to hard. I have found no way or where that failed logins are recorded if initiated via th GUI interface. I presume this is because it is using pam authentication. So having looked in var/log/messages for a record I can not find any, I've tried various words to grep for and looked but to no joy. On the first days of activity with this software I have notice that the KPowerSave tool doesn't update the status of my battery during the the operating time. The only time that the kpowersaver as the correct status is at the beginning of the operate system. I try to fix this problem in several way. I arrange to fix this problem installing the onmibook packages and with it the kernel-xanpae. After this installation every thing goes ok. No I have to go back to the old kernel because I need to VmPlayer, and so I have this problem again. Now, if the package with the firmware is available from configured installation sources, user is asked to confirm its installation. If it is not found, user is advised to add Add-On CD to his/her installation sources In reply to comment #5: ipw-firmware RPM needs to be installed because Intel wireless cards have in in Requires: flag supplied by hwinfo. This way, YaST makes sure the card will work at the end. It simply cannot keep track of all downloaded and installed tarballs. Bug I agree with comment #7 that this firmware stuff should be documented. Furthermore, even though no update had been installed, in a second attempt to install the updates, all updates were skipped, maybe due to inconsistent views regarding to what#s installed, and what's not. Here are some details: Updates were on a DVD with the Volume Label "SUSE Linux 10.1 Patch DVD" in side a directory "SL10.2-i386". Thus the path registered was "/media/SUSE Linux 10.1 Patch DVD/SL10.2-i386". What YaST did is this: Executing 'rpm' '--root' '/' '--dbpath' '/var/lib/rpm' '-U' '--percent' '--' '/media/SUSE Linux 10.1 Patch DVD/SL10.2-i386/rpm/i586/openssl-0.9.8d-17.2.i586.rpm' Naturally the result was like this: Subprocess failed.
